All About Kids Family & Community Services, Inc. (All About Kids) is a community-based 501(C)(3), tax exempt nonprofit located in Chicago’s Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, serving over 130 youth annually.
We offer a variety of programs for youth aged 11-17, including mentorship, life skills training, and peacebuilding activities.
We organize community events that promote positive engagement, such as peace rallies, educational seminars, and family support sessions.
Our educational workshops cover topics such as emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and vocational training.
Our mission aligns with the goals of this opportunity because we strive to boost civic engagement, leadership development, and overcome firearm violence in the community by empowering youth, their caregivers, at-risk groups, and the local community in meaningful and impactful ways.
In addition to addressing the immediate needs of participants, the program also works to create a ripple effect throughout the community. By empowering youth to become leaders in violence prevention, they can inspire and educate their peers, families, and neighbors. This can lead to a more united and resilient community, better equipped to address the challenges of violence and create a safer environment for future generations. Furthermore, the program’s focus on providing resources and support for parents and caretakers helps to create a stronger foundation for the entire community.
The program also targets improvements in academic performance and vocational skills, with progress tracked through academic reports, vocational training completion rates, and CDA certification attainment.
